Screening of film “1946” after a light meal

The documentary, 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, explores the impact of a mistranslation in the 1946 Revised Standard Version (RSV) of the Bible on perceptions of LGBTQ+ people. Specifically, the documentary focuses on the mistranslation of the Greek words “malakoi” and “arsenokoitai” in 1 Corinthians 6:9, which led to the inclusion of the word “homosexual” in the Bible for the first time.  Come to church at 5:30 p.m. to eat and at 6:00 p.m. the film will be shown.
